The Perfect Preservation of Sheep
Shepherds in Jesus' time needed to tend to the flock 24/7. There were no fences, nothing to contain the flock from wandering. In this text, Jesus is telling us that we need His protection 24/7, as we are not able to take care of ourselves. We will just wander aimlessly (in spite of what the world is telling us). We NEED Jesus in our lives all the time. We HAVE to follow Him and seek His guidance ALWAYS. Without Him we are lost!
A Great Mystery: Christ and the Church Part 2
Jesus said, “I will build my church”. He is the Rock of Ages, the sure foundation. Pastor Fred answers in Scripture “Why did Jesus give Himself for me?” Ephesians 5.25b-27 tells us that Jesus gave Himself for three very specific reasons – to sanctify the church, to cleanse the church, and to present the church in splendor. How this works and the glorious truth to live in victory that Christ has wrought is what Part II of Christ and the Church presents.
A Great Mistery: Christ and the Church
If you belong to Christ, you are called to the Home of Him; His Church. This passage in Ephesians is about Christ and His Church. It is about His redemption, His power and His glory. How He was obedient to His Father. We are to follow that example, by being obedient to Him (Jesus Christ). We are to labor for Him and all our wants, needs and goals are to be what Jesus wants for us, not what we want for ourselves. We are all washed in the same spirit, so we are all led by Him.
The Rock of our Church
When trials and tribulations enter our lives, who will we lean on? When things happen in our church (illness, death, division), how do we keep moving for Him? When we experience victory and are on the mountain top and suddenly it is taken away, who do we call on? Who is your rock? Who is the foundation of your faith? Deuteronomy 32 and 1 Corinthians 10:4 give us the answer. Christ is the rock!
Divinely Instituted
Who do you say Jesus is? Do you fully believe that He was send from God to save you and me? Do you realize that of all the billions of people on Earth, He pursued you and included you, after your confession of faith. in the very small inclusive group called "The Church". He wanted you, He pursued you, and He had mercy on you. Be still and give Him all the glory.
