The Identification of the Messiah
From our text this morning we see two supernatural and theological ways that the Messiah would be identified correctly by John the Baptist. 1. The Messiah would be revealed through the proper God ordained methodology. 2. The Messiah would be revealed through the proper God ordained miracle.

Behold the Lamb of God
In John 1:29 there are two startling statements that John the Baptist makes about the Messiah, the Lord Jesus. Both of these statements are contrary to what the popular view point of the day was. 1. The statement regarding the person of the Messiah was startling. 2. The statement regarding the work of the Messiah was startling.

A Humble Witness
My purpose for preaching this passage of Scripture is not so that you will have some good information on how you are to witness for Christ. But I want you to know what a true witness looks like and acts like and what his message is so that you can put that into practice. We are called to be Christ’s witnesses and when we witness we should do so in a manner worthy of the One to whom we are bearing witness of.

Reformation Sunday - John Newton: A Life Of Amazing Providences
Why spend Reformation Sunday learning about John Newton? Although he is not as well known as some of his contemporaries, the man was influenced by great men of God and in turn God used him to influence a younger generation of great men of God.

Witnesses To The Incarnation
From our text this morning, John 1:15-18, I want you to see four witnesses to the truth that the Word has indeed become flesh and dwelt among us. 1. John the Baptist is His witness. 2. We are His witnesses. 3. Moses is His Witness. 4. Jesus Christ is His own witness.

The Incarnation
From John 1:14 I want to give you these four adverbs that will help us understand and defend the doctrine of the incarnation. 1. When the Word became flesh the two natures of Christ were united truly. 2. When the Word became flesh the two natures of Christ were united perfectly. 3. When the Word became flesh the two natures of Christ were united undividedly. 4. When the Word became flesh the two natures of Christ were united unmixedly.

Born of God
From John 1:13, John gives us three ways that becoming children of God did not happen. That is what I would like for you to see this morning. I am going to take them out of order to show you what John is teaching us. So here are your three points for this morning. 1. People do not become children of God by their human pedigree. 2. People do not become children of God by human appointment. 3. People do not become children of God by an act of their own flesh.

Christ: The Mediator of All Things 2
My purpose in preaching these verses this morning is to show you and instill in all of us that life is only found in Christ. It is Christ alone who gives life, whether physical, spiritual, or eternal. All life is mediated through Christ. And my purpose is to reinforce the Christian truth that there is no life in any other. A mediator is one who stands between two or more parties. The Lord Jesus stands between God the Father and humanity accomplishing the will of God the Father and praying for the people of God.

Christ: The Mediator of All Things
We are going to take two weeks to look at John 1:3-5. In this part of the prologue of John we find two very important areas over which Christ is the mediator. 1. Christ is the mediator of all creation. 2. Christ is the mediator of all life including eternal life.

And The Word Was God
From John 1:1, I want you to see three attributes of the Lord Jesus Christ. 1. Jesus Christ is the Word of God. 2. Jesus Christ is eternal. 3. Jesus Christ is God.
