Dropping Stones
Perhaps one of the greatest misunderstanding people have about the Gospel involves the idea of sin and judgment. Friends, unless sin is judged, you cannot be set free! Sin is the great virus that has corrupted the human hard drive, and it earns us the wrath of God and eternal condemnation. But here’s where we must get it right – You and I are not the ones to cast judgment nor condemn sinners. In our text this morning, Jesus exposes the sinful heart that is quick to judge others and ignore your own sin. This is not Jesus’ heart, nor is it the heart of the Gospel. Sin is judged at the cross, not by humans, but by the Father through the Son … so all men can be free from condemnation.
The Hope of Peace After Punishment
Merry Christmas! We celebrate the birth of our Savior this Christmas Sunday as we journey yet again back to the time of Micah the prophet. Most in Micah’s day thought ever ything was fine, judgment would never come against their idolatry, and their human kings were good enough. But humans are never ver y good at saving themselves. In our text this morning we see that God is both committed to unraveling all that we put our trust in that is not Him, and focusing our attention on His solution ... the great King Jesus who came to save YOU from your sin!
