I was sitting alone at church one Sunday morning

I didn’t even know why I was there

When the Word of God was read

Questions rolled through my head

The preacher stopped and this is what he said.

To check the NASCAR race to see if my guy would win

As they roared around that track

My mind kept wandering back

And those words kept ringing in my head.
