God’s Word – the Bible

The Bible is a compilation of 66 books, stories and letters that God has personally written to us.

Christianity is the only “religion” that offers a relationship w/ God

We should love God’s Word the way David did (Psalm 119:72)

This is easier when we realize how desperate we are for His Word

We need God’s Word because it…

1.    ________ and ______________ us

Matthew 4:2-4 (NIV) – Jesus understood this clearly

IPeter 2:2 (NASB) – As spiritual beings, we need spiritual food

Proverbs 3:5-6 – We seek His will by seeking His Word

         We can be assured our Father always knows best (Psalm 32:8)

Romans 12:2 – We are all being “brainwashed” by something

Hebrews 4:12 – the Word performs spiritual surgery on us

To live in victory over (Psalm 119)… sin (9, 45), temptation (61, 111), backsliding (67, 176), worry (165), stress (143), fear (109-110, 114), discouragement (25, 76), hopelessness (81, 114,116), depression (50,  92-93), low self-esteem (141), insomnia (Ps. 4:8), etc., etc., etc.
