Have you ever stopped and thought about why we study the Old Testament? Most of it has "passed away", right? Maybe you don't like to study it because it's too confusing or you feel it no longer applies. We know, however, that the Old Testament Law is important and that it serves a purpose. Tonight we start a two week study on living life the way God wants us to. Paul gives us some basic principles that, when applied to our lives, have the potential to change our walk with God...forever. Think about it...living life God's way has GOT to be better than living it our way. He's God!!
Have you ever stopped to think about just how amazing the saving work of Jesus Christ really is? How amazing that God would graciously offer salvation to wretches like us. The Gospel changes people from the inside out. Christ gives us a radically new identity, freeing us from both self-righteousness and self-condemnation. He liberates us to accept people we once excluded, and to break the bondage of things (even good things) that once drove us. In particular, the gospel makes us welcoming and respectful toward those who do not share our beliefs.
Tonight's sermon picks up from last week. We continue to explore principles that Paul gives us to change our walk with Christ. Choose to live God's way...trust Him, it's better than yours.
