Face to Face: with Hope Lost

II. Two Distraught Disciples

a. Hope Has Been Lost        vv.13-24

                          The Cross was the greatest tragedy in human history!

                          We must grieve the cross before we can
                           celebrate the Resurrection.

b. Yet Their Hearts Burned        vv.25-27

                          Jesus is the Great subject of human history!

                          We cannot just embrace His words.  We must
                         embrace His person.

c. Because Jesus is Risen Indeed!        vv.28-35

                           The Risen Jesus is the Ultimate hope of humanity.

                          When we have been face to face with Jesus, we just
                         gotta tell others!

III. Communion: He was known to them in the breaking of the Bread.
