Secularism and the Bible - Part 4
Secularism says: There is no God. The Bible says: God exists and is the creator. Secularism says: Take care of yourself. The Bible says: Love one another. The Bible says: God will take care of you. We no longer live in a Christian culture.
Secularism and the Bible - Part 3
Secularism says: I can determine for myself what is right and wrong. The Bible says: God alone may determine what is good and evil. Secularism says: all words are neutral. The Bible says: watch what you say. Secularism says: it’s OK to go to bed with whomever you want. The Bible says: keep yourself sexually pure. Secular morality doesn’t work. We need to live according to God’s standard of morality.
Secularism and the Bible - Part 2
The Bible says: We are all sinners in need of a savior. In Christianity, we have a savior Jesus Christ. The only way to be right with God and receive eternal life is through Jesus Christ. If you want to be a spiritual person, receive the Holy Spirit from God.
Secularism and the Bible
Jesus calls us to be in the world, but not of the world. Secularism says: all thoughts about God should be kept private. The Bible says: We are to take God into the world. Secularism says: churches and church people are bad. The Bible says: when we take God into the world, others will be offended. The Bible says: we are to witness by living a righteous life.
Practicing Sacrifice
Christ sacrificed his life for us. God wants us to love others as Christ loves us. Lent is a time to improve our practice of love by practicing self-sacrifice. The idea is to do two things: 1. Remember what Christ did for you. 2. Practice self-sacrifice so you can become more like Christ.
