It was this message that God used the reformers some 490 years ago to bring back to light as they turned back to the Bible. Often today Christians seem to either think unity with other Christians is unimportant or that they must pursue unity with anyone who calls themselves Christians. However, while this scripture passage speaks of the importance of unity, it also points out that the only ground for unity is the good news of Jesus Christ as revealed by God and recorded in the Bible. In the gospel we have unity with one another, but outside of it there is none.
