God Provides

Transformed From bondage Into the People of God God Provides Exodus 25:23-30 I. A special golden table and utensils were to be made. A. Like the chest (Ark of the Covenant) the table was made of acacia wood overlaid with pure gold. B. Utensils of pure gold were also made for the table. C. The table was also made portable. II. The bread of the Presence was to continuously be kept on the table. A. Twelve fresh loaves of bread were set weekly on the table. B. God is continuously aware of his peoples' needs.

Covered by the Blood

I. A special ornate chest was to be made. A. It was to be made of acacia wood and covered with gold. B. The lid was to be solid gold with two facing cherubim. II. The chest would hold one copy of the Law. A. Two copies of the covenant were chiseled into stone. B. One copy was to be kept in the ornate chest. III. The cover of the chest would be where God would reveal himself. A. The blood of the atoning sacrifice would be sprinkled on the cover of the chest. B. Where the blood was applied, God would disclose himself.

Giving From the Heart

I. The Israelites were to give to the Lord. A. Each was to give freely from their heart. B. Each was to give of their very best. II. The Israelites were to build a sanctuary. A. They were to fully equip the sanctuary. B. They were to make it according to God's revealed plan. III. Once completed, God would dwell in the Tabernacle. A. The Lord would descend to live among them. B. The Lord would be revealed through his presence.

Seeing God

I. Moses was appointed by God as mediator to speak to the people on his behalf. A. The people were kept at a distance from God. B. Only Moses was allowed to approach God. C. All that God said, Moses spoke to the people. II. Moses consecrated the people with the blood of the sacrifice. A. A sacrifice was offered to God by Moses. B. When the people accepted the covenant, Moses sprinkled them with the blood of the sacrifice. III. Moses, after the sacrifice was made, ascended into the presence of God. A. The blood of the covenant established peace with God. B. God called Moses to ascend into his glory.

Guarded By an Angel

I. God's angel would ensure his people reach the Promised Land. A. The people will be lead and protected by an angel. B. Loyal obedience is the key to their success. II. God's angel would give his people victory in their battles with their enemies. A. The peoples' enemies will become confused and cowardly in battle. B. Victory will come as the people grow to handle it. III. God's angel would give his people territory. A. The place God would give his people was specific. B. Compromise leads to control.
