Purpose: to show that God's plans our better than our plans which depend only on our power.

Theme: God's leading in our lives humbles us to seeking him rather than our advantages in leading others. 

Question: What observations can one see in 2 Samuel 2:1-11 that pertains to Godly leadership? 

3 Observations of leading

1. A Humble King - Humble leadership (2:1-4a)

A. those who trust God must be humble 

  • Acknowledge Sinfulness (imperfection)
  • Acknowledge weakness (dependence)
B. Those who trust God must be in intimate relationship with Him
  • We need communication with God
  • We need Confidence in God
  • We trust in His love for us

  • We remember His past mercies
Lamentation 3:19-24

II. A Greatful King -  Grateful Leadership (2 Samuel 2:4b-7)

A. Recognize those who deserve recognition.
B. Honor thoswe to whom honor is due. 

III. A False King - Prideful Leadership (2 Samuel 2:8-11)
