One Man Wrecking Crew

- A broke-down palace fit for a king
• When the castle becomes more important than the kingdom, we should start to question who is king!
- The Israelites sought to confine the presence of God to the temple.
- The devil loves when we allow God to be confined to brick and mortar!
- Herod’s temple was one of the most impressive man-made structures of the ancient world!
• The disciples blindly marvel proudly over the temple, yet find no home within it!
• “Where your treasure is, there your heart is also...” (Matthew 6:21, Luke 12:34)
- Brick by Brick
• The kingdom of God is more akin to bin of Lego bricks than that of Herod’s temple!
- Built up by hands bigger than our own!
- Created out of the imagination of the infinite and eternal!
- Always an ongoing work-in-progress and never finished until it’s perfect!
• The call of Christ upsets the balance of power, and breaks down the barriers that separate us from God brick by brick.
• The heart of Christ beats in the chest of every Christian, as we are being built up as “living stones” (1 Peter 2:5) where God himself dwells!
- Our hope is built on nothing less!
• “And when they bring you to trial and deliver you over, do not be anxious beforehand what you are to say, but say whatever is given you in that hour, for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit.” (Mark 13:11)
• Our hope is in the One Man Wrecking Crew that gives us solid stand ground to stand upon in the face trial, tribulation, and triumph!
• We walk with broken people through really hard stuff, and proclaim a Gospel of being built up in Christ through acts of service, intentional discipleship, and invitations to worship!
