The Road of Thanksgiving (Leads Through Enemy Territory)

What happened to our “happily ever after”? Jesus came to rescue the world, yet it still seems to need a rescue. You came to Jesus for salvation, yet life still feels messy. At the end of chapter 7 in the Book of Esther, we may have expected a “happily ever after” summary. Haman’s evils plots have been exposed, Haman himself hanged, and we expect God’s people should now be able to live happily ever after. Yet there are battles yet to be fought. Today we take a look at the battles ahead on our way to "happily ever after"

When Evil Wins the Battle. When Fools Hold Sway

It can feel like evil is winning and fools are in charge. It seems that battle after battle is lost. This sums up the situation up to the end of chapter five in the Book of Esther. A date has been set for a genocide against the Jewish people and Mordecai, uncle and guardian of Esther, is to be killed the very next morning. However, there is a turning point in chapters six and seven. Today we take a look.

How to Not Go Crazy When Offended

Offence can drive us crazy. Offence can also make us crazy. We can sink to our lowest thoughts and actions when offended. Nothing draws foolishness out of us like offence. No one stands as a better example of foolishness in taking offence, than Haman from the Book of Esther. Let us learn from Haman how not to handle offence.
