Proverbs 12:1

1. We are to bear with one another in love.
2. We are to forgive each other as Christ forgave us.
3. We are to be discipled in the teachings of Jesus.

The church is supposed to supply both the opportunity to learn and grow in faith and accountability for my life and actions.

Proverbs 12:1

Discipline comes from the same root word for disciple. It has to do with setting the mind straight.
Discipline is not about punishing, it is about restoring.

When discipline is not a part of the local church plan, the door is open to:
  1. False teaching.
  2. Division among the church family.
  3. Sin that brings judgment.
  4. A continuation of sin in a home that destroys the testimony of God to the children.
  5. The church being weak instead of powerful.
  6. A loss of God’s glory before the world.

Proverbs 12:1, Matthew 18:15-18, Galatians 6:1,
1 Corinthians 5:1-2; 9-12, Titus 3:10-11,
II Thessalonians 3:14-15

The Bible is serious about the health of the local church.

It is almost suicidal to fly solo in combat conditions.

We are in combat conditions.

Who has your wing?

Who can speak to you about your life?

Who do you trust enough to take seriously anything they say?

Who knows they have an open line of communication to you to warn you of a forming attack?

Proverbs 12:1
