GLORY IN THE FELLOWSHIP PT. 8
Koinonia

John 10:10
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy;          I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

If Jesus came for this purpose should we not live for this purpose as well? What does it mean?

We believe that if you walk in these truths, you will have the life to the full that Jesus offers you.

Let’s highlight one of them: That people would possess the wholeness that comes only from being a submitted part of the Body of Christ.

Acts 2:40-47

What do you think of when you think of fellowship?
The word translated here for fellowship is koinonia.

Koinonia is deeper than simply socializing.
Koinonia is a deeply felt relationship, a life connection, and a community of people.
Koinonia makes life bearable in the tough times and makes life more enjoyable in the good times.
We were made for relationship.
The Church is God’s great opportunity to mankind for our lives and our boundaries to expand in His kingdom.

Koinonia happens when people:
  1. Pray together.
  2. Study God’s Word together.
  3. Socialize together.
  4. Live life together and care of each other.

Koinonia is where our life becomes a life of wholeness with a sense of belonging.
I believe the health of our future hangs on this issue.
Proverbs 27:17
As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.
Life lived outside koinonia:
  • Leaves us helpless to see the needed changes in life.
  • Is life lived blindly.
  • Leaves us empty of the great sense of wholeness that comes from heartfelt love.
  • Is lived without vitality.

Koinonia is what we want to offer every person who comes in our doors.
I don’t want to live life in a sterilized, selfish box.          I want to be part of a community of believers that loves, rejoices and mourns together. Today, we invite you to join us.
Life to the Full!
