Acts 10:1-8
 
  1. Qualities of Cornelius.
 
  1. He was a devout and God-fearing Man.
    1. Devout = He was diligent in his religious duties.
 
Being devout is noted by God.
 
  1. He was God-fearing.
 
He had a respect for God. This means he did not just live his life as he pleased.
 
Acts 10:22a
 
  1. Cornelius was a giver.
Here is what God says about Cornelius’s giving:

Do you want to get God’s attention? Be a giver.
 
  1. Cornelius was a man of prayer and fasting.

Cornelius was praying.

Do you see the difference?
 
Cornelius said, “From four days until this the hour I was fasting, and the ninth hour praying in the home.”
 
Do you care enough about your barrier to pray in a devout way and to fast?
 
  1. Cornelius was an obedient man.

Cornelius acted immediately.
There will be no breakthroughs without obedience.

  1. The barrier between the Jews and the rest of the world.
