Acts 10:1-8
-
Qualities of Cornelius.
-
He was a devout and God-fearing Man.
-
Devout = He was diligent in his religious duties.
-
Being devout is noted by God.
-
He was God-fearing.
He had a respect for God. This means he did not just live his life as he pleased.
Acts 10:22a
-
Cornelius was a giver.
Here is what God says about Cornelius’s giving:
Acts 10:31
Do you want to get God’s attention? Be a giver.
-
Cornelius was a man of prayer and fasting.
Acts 10:3
Acts 10:29-30
Cornelius was praying.
Acts 10:30-31
Do you see the difference?
Cornelius said, “From four days until this the hour I was fasting, and the ninth hour praying in the home.”
Do you care enough about your barrier to pray in a devout way and to fast?
-
Cornelius was an obedient man.
Acts 10:3-8
Cornelius acted immediately.
There will be no breakthroughs without obedience.
-
What Barriers were Broken?
-
The barrier between the Jews and the rest of the world.
Acts 10:28
Criticized in Jerusalem
Acts 11:17-18
-
The household of Cornelius was filled with the Holy Spirit.
Acts 10:37-44
Barriers should tell us. WE NEED THE POWER OF GOD.
