My Lord and My God!

You've heard of "postmodernism," right? It is largely a rejection of "modernism" which tends to overemphasize mankind's ability to know anything and everything. Postmodernism says, "We can't know everything." Obviously, this is true. The problem is: Many have decided we can't know anything...for sure. Take the resurrection of Jesus Christ, for example. Can we know for sure Jesus rose from the dead? Or, is it a blind leap of faith? Join us as we hear what the original post-modern man had to say on this subject.

Exchange

It happens all the time: Someone pays a price for something they want. We do it almost every day: We exchange money or time or talent or knowledge for something else. We hope it's a fair trade. We hope we get something valuable enough that we can say, "It was worth it!" But what if we come to the end of our lives and we find that everything we gained just wasn't worth what we paid? All the money we spent, all the time we sacrificed, all the heart and soul and talent and know-how we poured into a cause was too high of a price for what we ended up with. The fact is, it happens all the time. Join us as we look at one of the most stunning questions Jesus ever asked: "What will a man give in exchange for his soul?"

Get Behind Me, Satan!

Picture it: Jesus turned and said, "Get behind Me, Satan!" The camera pans not to a creepy looking dude in a red suit holding a pitchfork. The rebuke is directed not at a sulfur-breathed, black-eyed monster. It is directed at Peter. Jesus' follower. Jesus' friend. Eleven seconds earlier, Jesus had praised Peter for declaring that Jesus was, "The Christ, the Son of the Living God." Now, a strong rebuke. Very strong. As we "fix our eyes on Jesus," there is something we need to get straight: Jesus is not tame. The Author Shaun is talking about at the beginning of the message is Philip Yancey who wrote "The Jesus I Never Knew."

You Are The Christ

"O foolish men and slow of heart to believe..." is one of the last recorded statements of the resurrected Jesus before He ascended into Heaven! How were these men foolish? What were they slow of heart to believe? Old Testament prophecy about the Messiah! Why rebuke anyone for that? Join us Sunday morning as we continue to fix our eyes on Jesus as The Promiseā€”the pre-announced Son of David, Son of Abraham, Savior, Lord, Priest, Prophet, King, Son of the Living God... The Book Shaun talks about at the beginning of the message is "The Jesus I Never Knew" by Philip Yancey.
