Freedom Through Faith
1 Amens
As we have seen in recent weeks, Paul’s letter to the church in Rome is an extended explanation of many aspects of freedom which believers in Christ experience through faith. We often assume that we know what faith is, but do we? It certainly involves belief, but it also involves something less tangible yet equally important. Additionally, it involves something more tangible but also vitally important. Because faith involves more than mere belief, its opposite is not merely unbelief, but something experienced by the prophet Elijah (this morning’s reading from the Old Testament book of 1 Kings) and by the apostle Peter (this morning’s reading from the Gospel of Matthew).
Our message this morning will touch on all these aspects of the gift of faith.
