The Offense of Jesus
Many people share the belief that Jesus Christ--at the very least--was a good teacher, a kind and loving man, and a worthy example of how to live. So, why is Jesus so offensive to so many? In other words, what is the offense? In this sermon, we explore the offensive nature of Jesus Christ to those He came to save.

Transformed by Jesus
As Christians, we often consider what the Gospel means for our past (we're forgiven) and what it means for our future (we're with God forever), but not what it means for our present (we're being transformed). In this sermon, we look at the power of Jesus at work in the life of Christians.

What the Church Does
We are all devoted to certain things. When we come to Jesus by faith, Jesus causes us to leave all other "devotions" and devote ourselves to Him, His mission, and His people. In this sermon, we talk about what this devotion to Jesus looks like.

The Day the Spirit Came
Christians often try hard to be the church God calls them to be without the power God has given them to use. God's Spirit is the power behind the church's mission, and in this sermon we look at what happened the day God gave His Spirit to His people.

Key Ingredients
It’s important for a new church to have the right things built into its foundation. In this sermon, we look at the "key ingredients" the very first community of Christians had as they were being prepared to take the Gospel into the world.

Equipped for Mission
The book of Acts is all about Jesus. Though it is a book narrating the history of the early church, it is nonetheless all about Jesus. Through the Church, Jesus continued and continues His mission of reconciling the world back to God. In this sermon, we look at the first 11 verses of Acts to see how Jesus equips His people for His mission.

A Gospel Community
The Church is not anything man can form on his own. Man can produce services, organizations, and entertainment, but only God can form the Church. And, He has done this through the Gospel. In this sermon, we look at our vision for being a community formed by the Gospel. We also introduce our vision for “Gospel Communities” within Charis, which are formed by the Gospel, for the Gospel, and empowered by the Gospel. These small groups of people will share their lives with one another as they participate in the mission of God together.

Jesus: The King
Ever since Adam and Eve sinned in the garden, there has been a battle between two distinct kingdoms: the Kingdom of God and the kingdom of man. In Jesus, God reclaimed all that was rightfully His (the whole universe), re-establishing His rule on earth. How is God's Kingdom present on earth now, and where on earth can we go to experience it?

Jesus: The Priest
Jesus came to earth for three primary reasons: to reveal God to man as Prophet; to bring man to God as Priest; and to bring God's Kingdom to earth as King. In this sermon, we look at how Jesus came to be the true and faithful Priest, offering Himself as the sacrifice for man's sin.

Jesus: The Prophet
Historically, the Church has understood Jesus fulfilled three important offices (often portrayed by others throughout the Bible). These others were imperfect, lesser versions of Jesus, who were called by God to be prophets, priests, and kings; yet, each was only a foreshadow of Jesus, who was the Perfect Prophet, Priest, and King. This week, we examine Jesus fulfilling the role of prophet, and what that means to us as Christians living out the Gospel.
