"Discernment is the spiritual skill of perceiving things as they really are, in order to abound in the love of God." (D. LaChance) - God will gift Father's with discernment if they seek it sincerely. Fathers need to be listening with care and concern to the needs, challenges and dreams of their children. It's all too easy to be well intentioned, and yet completely distracted from this all important function of a father.
