The pathway of irreducible simplicity in Christ is outlined in Matthew 11:28-30. It is the pathway to true Sabbath rest for Christians. Come to me – Take my Yoke – Learn of me. The application key is found in the next phrase – “for I am meek and humble in heart”. Meekness is the quality that unites the heart and opens the door for an authentic walk with Christ. Without meekness, our growth in Christ will be seriously stunted at best. Meekness is not a personality trait; it is learned from Christ.
