You have to wonder if President Adams could see what was coming 100 years beyond his time, during the early part of the 20th century. That period in our history would meet with a tipping point that would begin to cascade us into a spiral of moral deterioration in America - that, by the 1960s, would gain exponential momentum. It was a change in our national ethos, the magnitude of which none of our founding fathers could have foreseen. It would be the great watershed of the 20th century.
