As we continue our series, “Set in Stone: What Do We Do with the Ten Commandments?” we come to the 7th commandment: you shall not commit adultery. This is going to be a tough one because adultery strikes at the heart of the most sacred human relationship – marriage. And Jesus defines adultery as more than a physical act. He makes it a matter of the heart. Adultery affects not only husbands and wives, but children and parents, friends and siblings. The wounds of adultery are deep and take a long time to heal. I have asked Pastor Shawn Cunningham, CTK’s Marriage and Family Pastor, to open the Word of God and talk about God’s heart for restoration, especially as it applies to adultery. Growing up in a home that was touched by the pain of unfaithfulness, Shawn’s unique perspective will not only be frank and honest, but also filled with the hope that only Jesus can bring.
