I've always had an issue with the shepherds. I'm not sure why, but there is something about guys who are "abiding" that just ticks me off. Real men don't abide! We work, we focus, we produce, we provide - we don't abide! Let me catch my breath for a moment and ask a question... what kind of expectations did the shepherds have on that first Christmas night? Were their expectations high or low? I would argue that they had very low expectations of that silent night, but then "suddenly!" an angel choir and an announcement changed everything. Suddenly, they weren't abiding - they were moving, worshiping and talking! I think we can learn a lot from the shepherds as we continue or series, "Expecting."
