Cut to the Heart

We learned last week that BELIEF lead to thoughts...THOUGHTS lead to actions...ACTIONS lead to habits...HABITS lead to character and CHARACTER leads to DESTINY (eternal of otherwise). The issue we will wrestle with this week is the source of our beliefs. How are beliefs created and can we really change our beliefs?

Romans 1 Continued

Pastor Dan Holland joins us at Core Faith as we continue in the Book of Romans. Last weekend Bishop Quinones got us started in our study of Romans by teaching us a lot about the gospel. The gospel is God’s power to save everybody! But as we move into the next section, Paul shifts from celebrating the power of God to change lives into what happens when we miss it. When we reject God and we’re left to our own devices. Our passage today takes us on a journey of How we Think and what we believe. THOUGHTS lead to action; ACTION lead to habits; HABITS lead to Character; CHARACTER leads to destiny. And it begins with beliefs. BELIEF changes everything.

Introduction to Romans

In any building project, the foundation is the most critical component to the stability of the building. This includes the quality of the materials used as well as the manner in which the foundation is laid. The book, epistle, or letter to the Romans contains both gospel material and a methodical lay out for us to ensure we have a solid foundation to the "building of our faith in Christ”!

Armored Up

Most people live life as though there is only the no: what we can see or sense physically. Yogis teach their practitioners to be “in the moment,” yet we are taught in the Bible that there is a spirit realm that is unseen that impacts the physical realm we do see. Mindful or not, sensitive or not, Christian or not, engaged or not there is a battle going on for our souls, our destiny and ultimately for the hindrance of the gospel!

Pray in Power

There is no question that our culture needs to be impacted by the power of God. This is most clearly seen by the divisions within the culture over policies, programs and politics. If it starts with a “p” the church is probably divided over it somehow…we’re divided over people, programs, preachers, principles, practices, prophecy and prophecies. Saddest of all, is that we’re divided over what constitutes the “power” of God, and all the while lost people are dying, the culture is being overrun by demonic schemes and the church is on the defensive rather than the offensive!
