The Battle for the City
Faithfulness to God's plan will lead to opposition from God's enemies. We will grow weary, afraid and discouraged. We can persevere through prayer and preparation when we remember who God is and how Jesus has worked for us, works in us & through us.

Taking Risks for the City
God's plan for the city invites us to risk for the city. Jesus left comfort and security to save us. He works in us so we will take risks to bring the blessings of the gospel to people in the city.

A Heart for the City
God has a heart for the city as the place for the unfolding of redemption. He works in us to create a heart for the city too. If we have a heart for the city we will hurt with the city, want God for the city, and pray for the city.

A Trustworthy God for People Who Don't Trust
Due to Adam's disobedience and people's sin against us, we all have trust issues. When God appears to Abram, his trust issues over the last 20+ years become apparent. God is all-powerful and able to keep his promises. While we wait, we are to trust and obey.

Jesus has opened the veil into the holy places thru His death on our behalf. He also cleansed our hearts and bodies so we are welcome in God's presence. He is the fulfillment of God's promises, giving us hope. In light of this we are able to consider how to encourage one another as the New Covenant community

In times of trouble we need someone to talk to God for us- there is no one better for that than Jesus, the exalted Son of God who was tested like us and is now able to grant us mercy and grace.
