The Biggest Sinner You Know
We all tend to think of others as being bigger sinners than ourselves. Paul saw it the other way around, and wanted us to as well. This statement is a summary of the whole Bible. We'll examine how Jesus saves, and why he saves sinners.

Suffering prompts us to ask lots of difficult questions. The Book of Job is about a man who suffered, and didn't know why. But Job expressed his faith both in God's goodness and sovereignty. So will we.

Anxiety: Symptom of a Bigger Problem
Anxiety is a sign that there is a bigger problem in our hearts- unbelief. It reveals areas where we are not trusting in our heavenly Father, but have instead trusted in earthly treasures. Jesus offers the cure for our anxiety.

A Great Danger to Devotion
Wealth, or prosperity, is a great danger to devotion. We tend to forget God, and make an idol of wealth. Jesus offers us greater joy if we store up treasures in heaven. He offers us Himself.

The Lost Practice of Fasting
The Church has forgotten the fasting is a means of grace, meant to be a regular part of our spiritual life. Fasting is voluntarily abstaining from something (lawful) for spiritual reasons. We are not earning grace, but expressing our need for grace, and more of Jesus Himself in the gospel.

Jesus returns to forgiveness, knowing we have a difficult time forgiving other people. Sin distrupts relationships and creates distance. The cross of Jesus is the means for our forgiveness, and the ability to forgive others.

Christian prayer is not overly spiritual- but our earthly needs are seen within the context of the kingdom. We live in a fallen world, and are dependent on God for provision, pardon and protection.

Sinners: Saved and Sent
We never understand our true condition until the God of holiness reveals our sin. He does not do this to condemn, but to save. He then sends us out to tell others of the salvation available in Christ.

The Passions of Christian Prayer
Our prayers reveal our passions, desires. In the first half of "The Lord's Prayer", Jesus shows us the passions of His heart. Those desires should transform us, and our prayers. Truly Christian prayer reflects the desires of God's heart.
