Fruit of the Spirit - Joy
Joy = Intense and especially ecstatic or exultant happiness.
Galatians 5:22
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
Joy follows love, and comes before peace. If we're not experiencing joy, check our love walk. If we're walking in love and operating in joy, then we will have peace in a situation. If we don't have peace in a situation, we need to go back and check # 1 & 2. Example of someone holding a grudge or offense against one. They will definitely not have any joy or peace in that situation because they're not letting love dominate that situation.
Love is a spiritual force and can be stirred up.
2 Timothy 1:6
Joy is an inner happiness that produces outward signs of it. If you do a search in the Bible for Joy, you will see that it is always accompanied by outward demonstrations. I believe music and singing are ways that we can stir up that joy.
Ps 5:11 But let all those rejoice who put their trust in You; Let them ever shout for joy, because You defend them; Let those also who love Your name Be joyful in You.
Ps 16:11 You will show me the path of life; In Your presence [is] fullness of joy; At Your right hand [are] pleasures forevermore.
Ps 21:1 To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. The king shall have joy in Your strength, O LORD; And in Your salvation how greatly shall he rejoice!
Ps 27:6 And now my head shall be lifted up above my enemies all around me; Therefore I will offer sacrifices of joy in His tabernacle; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the LORD.
Ps 32:11 Be glad in the LORD and rejoice, you righteous; And shout for joy, all [you] upright in heart!

Meditating on what the Lord has done for us, and on His promises will stir up joy.
Jer 15:16 Your words were found, and I ate them, And Your word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart; For I am called by Your name, O LORD God of hosts.
Joh 15:11 "These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and [that] your joy may be full.
Joh 16:24 "Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.
1Jo 1:4 And these things we write to you that your joy may be full.
Yielding to the Holy Spirit will also stir up our joy.
Ac 8:8 And there was great joy in that city.
Ac 13:52 And the disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit.
Ac 15:3 So, being sent on their way by the church, they passed through Phoenicia and Samaria, describing the conversion of the Gentiles; and they caused great joy to all the brethren.
Ro 14:17 for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

Our prayers should be accompanied by joy, knowing that we have the things that we ask for.
Php 1:4 always in every prayer of mine making request for you all with joy,
Ne 8:10 Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for [this] day [is] holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.
