God told the Israelites that He was going to lead them out of bondage, to the land He had promised to give to their ancestors. When the people got there, all but Joshua and Caleb refused to believe that the Lord could do it. They didn't want to have to work for it. They thought their labor was over now that they had left Egypt. They just wanted God to give it to them. God provides victory for us, but we have to possess it. There will be battles, some that The Lord fights for us, some that we must fight for ourselves, in the name of the Lord. People today are just like the Israelites back then were. They just want someone to do it all for them. They want someone to pray for them, to work a miracle for them. They don't want to have to do anything themselves. Our victory, in all the promises of God, is tied to our actions, the actions of faith that He tells us to do.

We have the victory

Psalms 34:19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the LORD delivers him out of them all.

Romans 8:37 But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us.

2 Corinthians 2:14 But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and manifests through us the sweet aroma of the knowledge of Him in every place.

1 John 4:4 You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.

Ps. 1, Joshua 1, both tell us that we must meditate in the Word.

James 5 tells us that we must pray earnestly to make tremendous power available.

I want a church full of giant killers, like David's mighty men. I want to show all of them how to possess the things of God in their own lives.

Our success is based on what we do, not someone else, not even God. He's already done it, already given us victory.

People want a revival, they think in revival, God does all the work. That He shows up and shows off, saving and setting free. His plan is for us to sustain a revival state by acting on the Word in our everyday lives. See the great commission.

Exodus 3:7-9, 16-17 - talking about what He's going to do.
Numbers 13 - Moses adds to the instructions, then the people rebel against the plan of blessing.
