Living Matters, Don't Waste Your Life On Yourself
2 Corinthians 5:1-21 For a few years now, we've been asking a crucial set of questions: Is Corona any better because we're here? Is my neighborhood, my work, my home, any better because a Christ-follower is in it? And while we as a church family have much to be pleased about, it's always good to remind ourselves of this important principle: Our good deeds will build a platform of good will, from which we will share the Good News.

Loving Matters: It's What's Inside that Counts
Romans 12:9-21 When God chose a young shepherd to be king in Israel, it shocked the leadership. God's answer? "Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart." Character has always mattered to God. What we know must shape who we are! Otherwise, we are only examples of religious hypocrisy. Godly character is the internal fruit of sincere faith in God, even as good works (Living) are its external display.

Learning Matters: Preserving the Truth of Truth
2 Timothy 4:1-5 Today, truth is on trial. Many are suggesting that no such thing as absolute truth exists. Still others are declaring that, even if it does exist, we can't possibly know anything perfectly enough to say it is true. All of this strikes at the heart of our worldview as those who believe God has revealed Himself in propositional truth that is sure, knowable, and authoritative. What do we do?

Vision Matters
Colossians 1:28 and selected Scriptures As we begin another ministry year, crucial questions must be asked and answered. What are we doing, and why are we doing it? At Northpoint, the answers flow out of Paul's heart as expressed in Colossians 1:28: What are we doing? ...proclaiming Jesus Christ! Why are we doing it? ...to bring people to a better place, to completion and forgiveness as Christ-followers.

A Passion for the Gospel
2 Corinthians 5:17-21 The Gospel. We posess the message. We are ambassadors of the message to the world. How we share the gospel needs to be simple and clear. We should introduce how we have a relationship with God, then we need to follow that by living a life that has been transformed by the gospel.

Occupied with the Gladness of Our Hearts
Ecclesiastes 5:18-20 Life can be hard at times; there are questions we can't answer, problems that we can't solve, and sometimes it's difficult for us to see God's plan and purpose for our life. And all around us those in the world without Christ are looking for answers too, and often finding only emptiness and frustration. Solomon, the author of the Book of Ecclesiastes – or the "teacher" as he called himself – faces these deep problems and questions of life head-on. He doesn't sugar-coat them, nor does he hide his own failings; he goes to the depths of despair and comes back. But through the dark clouds of this book, God does break through with some light, and Solomon gives us some of that God-given wisdom here.

A Passion to Live in the Light of Eternity
Colossians 3:1-4 In a quote on the back page, George Ladd writes that the church can no longer live "as though they were mere worldlings." For true followers of Christ, something has drastically changed... we are no longer mere worldlings. While still living on this earth, we belong to a different sphere...a sphere where Christ reigns supreme. As we understand and believe that we belong to a sphere in which Christ reigns, it will change the way we live in the present. Understanding that we are citizens of heaven (Phil. 3:20) will change the way we live as citizens on earth.

A Passion for Hospitality: Making Room for the Gospel
1 Peter 4:7-11 Have you noticed how busy life can be? The constant flow of our culture draws us away from living the mission of the glory of God in Christ. Peter uses the missional themes of God's glory, sound judgment and spiritual gifts to teach us that the best way to demonstrate the gospel is to make room around the kitchen table.

The Vindication of Jesus, Part 3 - From Followers to Witnesses
Luke 24:36-53 Luke brings volume 1 of his biography of Jesus to a fitting climax with the long awaited reunion between Jesus and his closest disciples. Again, as in the previous 2 episodes, we see that their confusion is confronted with the truth of Scripture, and they are changed forever. Those who have followed Christ, are now asked to run ahead as witnesses. Jesus is who he said he was; and Jesus has done what he said he would do; and now, we have been given the privilege of letting the whole world know.

The Vindication of Jesus, Part 2 - Jesus and Two Disciples
Luke 24:13-35 Luke's story of the women and the empty tomb is followed by an actual appearance of the risen Jesus. As he walks and talks, he exposes the faulty Messianic theology of two of his followers, and then - using the Old Testament - demonstrates that the plan of redemption, which called for his sacrificial death, was clearly spelled out in the writings of Moses and the prophets. Through the Scriptures, eyes are opened to the reality of Jesus as Savior and Lord, and hearts are motivated to partner with him as stewards of the story.
