Godly Copying

Philippians 3:17-19, Walt Russell

Philippians 1:27-30 – The qualities your models should have

"Live as worthy citizens of the gospel-cause... "

...with firm unity among members (Phil 2)

Follow these examples:

Jesus (Phil 2:6-11)                                            

Paul (Phil 2:17)                                    

Timothy (Phil 2:19-22)              

Epaphroditus (Phil 2:25, 29-30)             .

...with fearless steadfastness against enemies (Phil 3)

Follow Paul's example:

3:1-16 – Stand against the Judaizers' false doctrine of fleshly confidence.

3:17-4:1 – Stand against the Judaizers' false doctrine of fleshly conduct

Philippians 3:17-19 – Be imitators of Paul & those who follow his pattern

3:17 – Join in imitating Paul and those who walk according to the pattern of Paul's team.

3:18-19 – (Explanation) This is necessary because many walk as enemies of the cross.

"enemies of the cross of Christ"

"whose end is destruction"

"whose god is their belly"

"whose mindset is on earthly things"

So, how can you do better copying—godly copying?!
