Everyone is Welcome

Being made to feel welcome is wonderful. Whether it is in a friend’s house, or in a restaurant, it is always a nice feeling to be welcomed. Jesus was welcoming to all, from sinners to tax collectors, from the dirty to the broken. Terry takes us through Jesus’ dinner at Simon’s house. All people were welcome to Jesus and we are called to be welcoming as well. It was Jesus’ mission and it is ours. Everyone is welcome in the Kingdom of Heaven.

(Parenthetical Acts)

Life is what happens while you're busy making plans. This is what Terry calls living life in the parenthesis. As we dig deeply in Luke 7 we get a clearer picture of all that was under-girding the stories that get all the attention. The act that was the genesis of life, and the acts that followed as a testimony of that life, are all found in the parenthesis. What is clarifying and explaining your life?

If You Aren't Moving Forward You're Being Left Behind

Moving forward with something can be difficult. All these doubts will spring up that make it seems harder than it really is to move forward. However overcoming these doubts and pushing forward is an amazing feeling. Greg takes us through Jesus sending his disciples out. Our mission was made clear. We are called to move forward and go out, to proclaim the good news to all. Don't give in to the doubts. Move forward in faith.

Assurance or Insurance

You can get insurance on almost anything nowadays. From car insurance to medical insurance, life insurance to musical instrument insurance. There is a type of insurance for almost everything. However this has conditioned us to seek insurance, rather than assurance, in our relationship with our Lord and Savior. Terry takes us through of Jesus' response to John the Baptist. Jesus assures John of everything, and Jesus assures us of everything. We just need to have the faith to take that assurance, and walk closely with God.

About Doubt

Doubts are normal. We all have them at various times. The church has at times treated doubting as a sin in and of itself, however this is not the case, doubts are normal. There will always be doubts, and we can take those doubts to Jesus. Terry takes us through Jesus' answer to John The Baptist when John expressed doubts. When we bring our doubts to Jesus he can make us stronger in our faith. When we take our doubts to Jesus, he can draw us closer to him.
