When life seems to spiral out of control, we can continue to cling to hope. **We had audio difficulties in the beginning and some of the sound appears to have been lost. Here is the opening paragraph - In 1995, a man was hiking in Yellowstone National Park. Tragically, he slipped and fell into a cavern. When he did, several rocks slid and filled the hole where he fell. He was held down by rocks and in the cavern for ten days – until someone heard his cry for help. When he was rescued he was asked, “How in the world did you make it down there for so long without any water or food?†He answered, “I could always look up and see a tiny beam of light shining through the top and it gave me hope.†And he clung to that ray of hope.
In recognition of the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church, Matt discusses what that means to the local body here and what we can do to support and encourage our brothers and sisters around the world. *The sermon audio isn't as poor as it might initially appear. Matt has been battling a cold for the past few days and it has impacted his voice. He assured everyone that his voice sounded MUCH worse than he felt!
A community of God has to be built on the principles found in Scripture. The only way we can move forward with God's vision is by looking back and seeing how He has worked in history.
The Lord is a faithful God. Regardless of our faithfulness or unfaithfulness, God keeps His promises!
