2 Corinthians 1:5-7

5 For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows.  6 If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer.  7 And our hope for you is firm, because we know that just as you share in our sufferings, so also you share in our comfort.

2 Corinthians 1:5

1.  WHAT IS TRUE OF JESUS CHRIST ALWAYS BECOMES TRUE OF HIS PEOPLE.

John 13:18-20

18 “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first.  19 If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.  20 Remember the words I spoke to you: ‘No servant is greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also.

2 Corinthians 1:6

6 If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer.

2 Corinthians 1:7

7 And our hope for you is firm, because we know that just as you share in our sufferings, so also you share in our comfort. 

2.   WE’RE IN THIS TOGETHER:  YOU AND ME; US AND HIM.

2 Corinthians 4:15

15 All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God.

John 21:22

22 Jesus answered, “If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you? You must follow me.”

3.  GOD HIMSELF IS AT WORK IN WHAT IS STRANGE AND TROUBLING ABOUT YOUR LIFE.

John 16:33

33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
