Economics 101: Contentment
Last week Pastor Wood spoke about getting our priorities right. This week he follows up on that thought with a lesson on contentment. If we establish our priorities correctly, then contentment should follow.

King Jehu And The Work That God Gave Him To Do
Jehu was given the task of God to eliminate the house of Ahab. In II Kings we see Jehu completing this task. Along the way Jehu takes the time to encourage Jehonadab in his zeal and desire to serve the LORD. °Jehu challenges Jehonadab regarding the state of his heart asking him, "Is your heart right?" A right heart is the first requirement for doing God's work. Are our hearts right so that we can do God's work for us? °Jehu offered to share the burdens with Jehonadab "Give me thine hand". Together, the two went out and accomplished God's work. We must share each others burdens and share the load among our Christian brothers and sisters to accomplish God's will. Each of us must be willing to give up our personal desires to work together and achieve the tasks God has placed before us. °Jehu had a holy zeal to follow the Lord. Do we have a zeal to follow after the Lord or are we 'lukewarm'. We can not diligently accomplish our tasks from God if we are not fully committed.

Priorities, Priorities
Priorities....God first in everything. Period. `We put God first, `God will make sure we have all we need. In this part of Scripture, we see that the Jews put their own home needs before that of the house of God. Clearly, God's blessings were withheld from them due to their misguided priorities. We have to realize we must seek God first.

Good Homes
A home is not complete without 2 major components: God and The Bible. God and The Bible should be the foundation of every home. A home that has these components has strength and security. The leader of the home should the man of the house, he should have family devotions and prayer. The families should spend time together, families should go the church together. Families that follow these steps stay together. Families need to have Christlike communication, the tongue has more power than any weapon ever made. Families need to communicate with one another. Families need to be connected to Christ through Salvation.

The Christian Course: Heaven Straight Ahead
The Christian life: we often get caught up in working through life on Earth and not realizing what is in store for us in eternity. Our walk with the Lord does not end when we get to Heaven. On Earth we worship the Lord in Spirit , in Heaven we see Him face to face. We will be talking to the Lord face to face. We will have no more pain, no more suffering, no more problems, and no more sickness. Think about it: we will be living with our Lord and Savior forever and ever. If we EVER need encouragement that and that alone should be all we would ever need...

Joyfully Coming Down From the Tree to Meet Christ
A lesson from the familiar passage about Zacheaus in Luke Chapter 19. Zacheaus came down from his tree to meet the Lord. Are there "trees" that we need to come down to come to Christ. Be like Zacheaus and "make haste" to come down and meet the Lord. °Is there a "tree" of Pride in your life preventing you from joyfully meeting the Lord? °Is there a "tree" of Indifference in your life that is keeping you from following the Lord? °Is there a "tree" of Unfaithfulness in your life? Unfaithfulness to church, Unfaithfulness with God's tithe, Unfaithfulness with God's Word and prayer. °Is there a "tree" of an Unforgiving spirit in your life that is inhibiting your walk with the Lord?

Trick Or Treat
The sermon today is about "Trick Or Treat" . The trick in " Trick Or Treat " is the Devil's method to entice us to sin. Which is easy in our " Me" society, we tend to fall easily for these traps. The Devil makes it easy tempting us a little at time and then we realize we are submerged in sin. The Devil will distract us from our different task we should be doing in life. The treat in " Trick Or Treat " is The Lord. He desires that we have an abundant life. He wants us to have eternal life and it is free if we only accept Him. If we accept Him our life will get better and better. It is your choice: the trick which is death or the treat eternal life through Jesus Christ ........Trick Or Treat..

Will There Be Light In Heaven
When we get to heaven there will be light and Jesus is that light. There will be no sickness, pain, or sorrow. Every question will be answered with clear understanding. We will know all our loved ones, maybe not in the same fashion as on Earth. We will meet all the people we have learned about in the Bible. We will know each other and there will be a great reunion....A great fellowship`..

Confidence Before God
Confidence in christian living is abiding in Christ. Faith and works are key components in abiding in Christ. Confident christian living comes from obeying Christ. It comes from abiding in Christ and obeying Him. Obeying brings confidence. A Christian who obeys to please God will find that God wants to please the christian. Confidence comes from loving God and loving others. As we love others more and more, God loves us more and more. Perfect love. Confidence also comes from knowing the Word of God. Not because of who we are. but because of Who He is.

Experiencing A Lapse Of Faith
Pastor shares with us a lesson from the book of Joshua. Joshua and the Children of Israel had just suffered a great defeat in the city of Ai. Joshua and the Children of Israel went into the battle overconfident and after the defeat they felt like God had abandoned them. Joshua had suffered a lapse in faith much like we do in time of adversity. When we go through adversity we need to turn to God. God will never give us anything we can't handle we simply need to surrender it to God. We often let the problem become bigger than the solution but REMEMBER nothing is bigger than God!!!!
