Descriptions of the Kingdom part - 6

Introduction: In part one of the descriptions of the Kingdom from the Sermon on the Mount our focus was on the Blessings which Jesus spoke of at the beginning of His message. The 8 blessings revealed the process which each person travels as he or she enters the kingdom. As a person places trust in Jesus alone to be forgiven of sin and to become God’s child they experience these eight blessings. As they continue to follow Jesus and serve in His Kingdom they continue to experience these 8 blessings. The first four are works God is doing inside the person. The last four are the external fruit which is produced.

Descriptions of the Kingdom part - 5

Introduction: The Sermon on the Mount is found in the Gospel of Matthew chapters 5-7. The primary message of the sermon is Jesus calling His followers to a Kingdom, and to a lifestyle. This life as Jesus describes it is impossible for anyone to live without Jesus. Only Jesus can fully live as this message describes. Therefore, by calling us to live it Jesus is causing us to face our inadequacies. The purpose of the law of God was to help us understand sin and to see that our only hope for salvation was to look in faith to God’s mercy.

Descriptions of the Kingdom part - 2

In our study of the Kingdom of Jesus we have shared an overview of the Kingdom concepts. The Kingdom of Jesus is now here. It is also yet to fully come upon the earth. The Kingdom’s arrival lines up with the 1st and 2nd comings of Jesus Christ. Jesus 1st appearance brought the kingdom. The church now serves as the embassy of the Kingdom sharing the Gospel of the Kingdom. Jesus return to earth will bring the completion of His Kingdom to the earth.
