Since early February, Houghton College students have been preparing tax returns at no charge for eligible residents of New York's Allegany County. Join Martha Manikas-Foster in this Neighborhoods in the Network report to learn how these college students are using their accounting skills as a form of ministry as they work with the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program through the Internal Revenue Service.
Allegany County residents who earn $42,000 or less and who would like to fit into the program's final tax preparation appointments on April 8, 2009 should contact the Houghton College Public Events Office at (585) 567-9210.
