Staycation: Pine Creek Gorge/PA Grand Canyon

Visitors to the Pine Creek Gorge get to experience the great outdoors surrounded by the Tioga State Forest.  The "Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania" begins just south of Ansonia, along US-6 and continues south for nearly 47 miles. At its deepest point, Pine Creek Gorge is 1,450 feet deep and nearly one mile wide.

At Leonard Harrison and Colton Point State Parks, the depth of the canyon is about 800 feet and visitors can catch panoramas at park overlooks.

Lori Copp, executive director of Visit Potter Tioga, fills listeners in on the various types of recreational activities visitors can experience.

USA Today has even voted the Pine Creek Trail as one of the “10 Great Places to Take a Bike Tour.”  The packed-gravel pathway meanders from Wellsboro Junction 62 miles to Jersey Shore, PA.
