Submit to God First

There are three sentences in Ephesians 5 that end with this verse (Ephesians 5:21). We will see today that the key to a happy home flows from a strong relationship with God. If I love God, I fear disappointing Him by acting wrongly. I know that treating my family poorly will affect my relationship with God and I don’t want that damaged (I Peter 3:7). I know that God will discipline me if I act wrongly and I don’t want to be disciplined by Him. I know that He is my Judge and I answer to Him. If not, where things are lacking, what relationship is it that needs the most work? For the answer, read the end of the sentence (Eph. 5:21). The answer is our relationship with God. If we work on that relationship first, we will submit to each other in the fear of God and our homes will be changed.
