What Is Church? A Spirit Enabled Community

We live in a much complex world than ever before. We also live in a world that is more skeptical and does not understand the church. A lot are asking, "what is church?" Or, "why should I go to church?" Great questions that we must learn to answer. The early church, think book of Acts, helps the modern church answer the question, "what is church?" The Call of Christmas To Provide

Sometimes we think God can't use us because we aren't the best in anything. We read stories in Scripture and think well that's not me. Even in the Christmas story we read of Zechariah and Elizabeth. Sure they were old and he wasn't sure it could be true that they would have a son. But, at least they were from the "right" family and did things right. That's not me. Enter the story of Mary as the mother of Jesus. From a little town most didn't like, from poverty, uneducated, and definitely not someone to be picked. Yet, this is the story of Christmas. It can be your story as well.

The Call of Christmas-To Hope

Barren places are all around us. People are struggling with shame, guilt, hopelessness and despair. If we are not careful we will either not see them or we will make them feel even worse. Yet, the call of Christmas is for the church to step up and be the voice of hope. The story of Elizabeth helps us to remember that God delights in bringing life into barren places
