1. If a nonbeliever asked you to explain the Trinity,  

how would you answer?  

2. Discuss the point in Pastor Scott’s message was  

most helpful to you today. Why?  

3. Do you sometimes think of luck or chance as causing  

events that happen in your life?  If you ever feel that  

way, does it increase or decrease your anxiety about  

the future?  How would you feel differently if all the  

events in your life were not the result of chance but  

were under the wise control of your heavenly Father?  

4. Would you call your present relationship to God a  

personal relationship?

1. Recognize Who is Speaking to You.  

This was now the third time that Jesus was revealed to the  

disciples after he was raised from the dead. 15 When they  

had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon,  

son of John, do you love me more than these?” He said to  

him, “Yes, Lord; you know that I love you.” He said to him,  

“Feed my lambs.” 16 He said to him a second time, “Simon,  

son of John, do you love me?” He said to him, “Yes, Lord;  

you know that I love you.” He said to him, “Tend my sheep.”  

17 

 He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of John, do you  

love me?” Peter was grieved because he said to him the third  

time, “Do you love me?” and he said to him, “Lord, you  

know everything; you know that I love you.” Jesus said to  

him, “Feed my sheep.

2. Realize Your Vehicle Is Not Home.  

“These all died in faith, not having received the things  

promised, but having seen them and greeted them from  

afar, and having acknowledged that they were strangers and  

exiles on the earth. 14 For people who speak thus make it  

clear that they are seeking a homeland. 15 If they had been  

thinking of that land from which they had gone out, they  

would have had opportunity to return. 16 But as it is, they  

desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore  

God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has  

prepared for them a city.”  

Hebrews 11:13­16

3. Remember You’re A Passenger.  

3.1. Your Route is Mapped by God the  

Father.  

“He was foreknown before the foundation of the world but  

was made manifest in the last times for the sake of you…”  

1 Peter 1:20  

3.2. Your Path is Rated G.  

“But we ought always to give thanks to God for you, brothers  

beloved by the Lord, because God chose you as the firstfruits  

to be saved, through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in  

the truth.”        2 Thessalonians 2:13  

3.3. Your Road Ends in Blessing.  

As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of  

your former ignorance, 15 but as he who called you is holy,  

you also be holy in all your conduct, 16 since it is written,  

“You shall be holy, for I am holy.”  

1 Peter 1:14­16
