HELP! I'm Confused

“HELP … I’m CONFUSED!”

INTRODUCTION:  We use confusing “Christian terms” …

1.- “Lost” – Luke 19:10 – “for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost."

      - To be “lost” means to be on the wrong path … to Hell.

2.- “Saved” – John 3:17 – “For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.”

       - Matthew 25:46 – Ephesians 2:1 – “And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins,”

3.- “Born-Again” – John 3:3 – “ unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."

4.- “Sin” – ‘to miss the mark’

       - John 1:29 – "Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!”

       - Romans 3:23 – “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,”

5.- “Conviction” – Jude 14-15 – “… to convict all who are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have committed in an ungodly way ...."

        - The Holy Spirit has to “convince” you that you are a sinner.

6.- “Repentance” – Luke 13:3 – “I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish.”

        - 2 Corinthians 7:9-10 – “… that your sorrow led to repentance. For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation ....”

        - Acts 3:19 – “Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out …”

        - Luke 13:3 – “ … unless you repent you will all likewise perish.”

        - 2 examples of repentance – Luke 15:18 & Luke 18:13.

1.- Seeing SIN For What It Is – Romans 6:23 – “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

2.- Seeing GOD For Who He Is – John 3:16 – “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

7.- “Grace” – Ephesians 2:5 – “by grace you have been saved.”

8.- “Trust Jesus” – “Ask Jesus into your heart.”

         - Romans 10:9 – “that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

CONCLUSION:  You know the terms, but do you know the Savior?
