Water from the Wells

The water is salvation, and the wells are ways to drink of the benefits of that salvation. This message describes the God of our salvation and how He is our salvation, strength, and song. We also look at the greatness of our salvation, how God's anger is removed and our comfort received, as well as the Glory of our salvation which is explained by water, experienced by trust, and expressed by joy. The wells described in this passage are the wells of praise, prayer, proclamation, and God's presence.

The Trust of Faith

Job declares, "Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him." From this we can trust that when we are in such slaying times that it is to show we really are His children, to create, test, and affirm our faith, and to allow us to prove that we are not mere professors of faith.

An Admonition for God's People

This passage gives an indictment of God's people showing the rebellion that prompts God to act against a stubborn, sinful, sick, and suppressed nation; it also shows the remnant that prevents God from totally destroying the nation; the religion that provokes God is also detailed. There is an invitation to sanctification and service as well though, that His people may be in right standing with Him.

He is Risen; He is Not Here

He has risen for the seekers, the sorrowful, the slow of heart, the sitters, and the sinner. He has also risen for the sending into all the world with the gospel and that He may be seated in the place of authority until the day of His return.
