Soul Prosperity

Soul Prosperity

Isaiah 55:1-3

Notice that the Lord tells us that we are giving of our substance and energy for what does not satisfy.  Then, further down in the chapter, He tells us that His Word will not only give bread to the eater but also seed to the sower.  We will have “more than enough.”  We will have enough of whatever we need to give others in need.

Isaiah 55:8-13

I love how the chapter resolves with us being led forth in joy.  Notice the trees are clapping.  Is it because we are finally getting it?

Romans 8:19-20

Now to our central verse:

3 John 1:2 Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.

The apostle John prays that we would be in health and prosper in ALL things.  He is saying that it is God’s will for us to have God’s superabundance in every area of life.  Physical, emotional, relational, mental, and financial and more God wants us to know that we have His provision, but the important key is “as your soul prospers.”

In other words, we must find our provision on the inside and then it will find manifestation on the outside.  We need to live in God’s righteousness, peace and joy on the inside all the time, not just cry out to God for it when we are in a crisis.  Our soul is prospering when we are walking in step with Holy Spirit.

I think we often go about it backwards.  We are attempting to see all outside “things” prosper, while not paying attention to the real deal inside, where Holy Spirit lives and wants to express Himself through us by “getting out” through our daily lives.

Galatians 5:22-25 Fruit of the Spirit

Fruit happens when the Word of God combines with soil that has been made ready……

Divine Health – Healing

A product of Soul-Prosperity is health.  How many ailments are caused by unresolved soul issues?  Unforgiveness, bitterness, guilt and shame all manifest in various ways (such as addictions, character defects, broken relationships and even dis-ease) when they are not dealt with promptly.

Those blessings on the outside won’t come until we have pressed through on the inside to God’s presence to find His peace, His joy and His righteousness.  God is not wanting us to live some kind of burdened-down life, living in depression and sorrow.

Proverbs 17:22

Remember, too, that deliverance is the children’s bread…

Mark 7:26-28

And why, if we are suffering in our sickness for God to teach us something, do we try to get well by going to the doctor?

It is our heart condition that determines our prosperity in all other areas.

1 Samuel 16:7

So, it is time for us all to resolve the hearty issues, whether bitterness, grudges, or amends we need to make for our wrongs done to others.  God wants us to “cast our cares on Him..”  He wants us to live FREE!

Phillippians 4:8
