Jonah: Anyone Can Be Saved (4)

Jonah is mad because God saved Nineveh. This is why he ran away. There are three perspectives from which to look at this. Jonah hated Assyrians, who were cruel idolators. We might be inclined to agree with Jonah. But from God's perspective, all the world is God's creation and His desire is that all people be saved. God won't shut anyone out. Nineveh is evil compared to God, but God still sent Jonah with His message to them. Likewise, God will send messengers to us to tell us that anyone can be saved. Today, God wants everyone to know Jesus. If we're like Jonah, we must preach. If we're like Nineveh, we must repent.

Jonah: Faith For A City (3)

Now Jonah is going to Nineveh, a great city. The tragedy of being in the belly of the fish wasn't the end for Jonah. This is a second chance and this time, he chooses to follow God's irrevocable calling. Now Jonah walks according to the word of the Lord. Jonah's words were simple, he used only one sentence because God can use little things to accomplish great things. Through us, God can shake nations. Jonah never even said God would forgive. Even so, Jonah's simple, humble message spoke loudly, and revival swept the city. God's calling is final. He doesn't need much to do great things. Humility is a powerful weapon.

Jonah: Praying In Darkness (2)

Jonah is in the belly of the whale, the worst moment of his life. He's not sure if he will survive. Some things we face are too big for us to handle alone. There is no shame in struggling, but we must acknowledge our problem in order to begin to get out of it. Jonah is at rock bottom, which is a strong foundation. We can reset after we have failed because God is always listening for us to call on Him. If we turn to Him and listen to His direction, He will rescue us. This can be a new start, not just the end. God wants us to need Him. Our weakness let's Him be strong. Then we can live a life of Thanksgiving because God is with us through it all.

Jonah: Running Into The Fish (1)

Jonah knew God's will and ran away from it. Any of us can fall into the temptation to run from God when we think our way is better, but the path that lies in front of us is selfish with unreliable friends. Following God may seem difficult sometimes, but it's ultimately going to be what's best for us. It's how we survive the storms of life.

Our Church, Our Vision 2018 (3)

God has laid out our path. We must decide how we'll follow it. We must be kingdom minded. This message details the final three areas God has given us to focus on in 2018. God has blessed this church in many ways. Now He leads us to pass those blessings on to others. As we seek and follow God's will, we must guard against Satan's attacks on our church from within. God is calling our church to do great things. We must respond by daily following Him and the path he has for us.
