Everyone has a task in Missions

M-O-T-H-E-R
“M” is for the million things she gave me,
“O” means only that she’s growing old,
“T” is for the tears she shed to save me,
“H” is for her heart of purest gold;
“E” is for her eyes, with love-light shining,
“R” means right, and right she’ll always be,
Put them all together, they spell “MOTHER,”
A word that means the world to me.
–Howard Johnson (c. 1915) What kind of little girl was your mother? I don't know because I wasn't there, but my guess would be she was pretty bossy. They say she used to be nice. My mother has always been my mother and none of that other stuff. Why did your mother marry your father? My grandma says that mommy didn't have her thinking cap on. My dad makes the best spaghetti in the world. And my mommy eats a lot. What's the difference between dads and moms? Dads are stronger and taller, but moms have the real power cause that's who you gotta ask if you want to sleep over at your friend's.

Division is Killing Missions

Division is an interesting word. It is made up of the prefix "di," which means two, and "vision" which means the way we see things. The problem at Corinth was that people were seeing things differently. They did not agree with each other, but more importantly, they did not agree with what God had to say through the Apostle Paul. They were so consumed with an argument that was not important; the work of Missions was suffering. This morning, look at your life. Are you planting? Are you watering? If not, you are not involved in Missions.

Love That Makes All Things New

Everywhere in Scripture, we find examples of people finding this new life. Zacchaeus, Nicodemus, Saul who becomes Paul. It is natural for Paul to share with us how this change took place in his life. He is also encouraging us to embrace this new life in Christ.

Love That Conquers Death

At least five times Jesus said that He would rise from the grave and that is exactly what He did. In our text, Paul states that the Resurrected Christ was seen by Peter, Paul, The rest of the Apostles and over 500 witnesses. These verses do more than describe the work of Christ and the importance of the Resurrection, they give us a clear summary of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and just how much He loves us.

Love That Makes Things Right

* Theme:  Jesus was seeking to turn the Temple into what it should have been for all people, a house of prayer and worship. He loves us so much and He wants what is best for us.  What a beautiful picture of love.  Instead of worrying about His approaching trial and death, He takes time to heal the sick and be with children.  This Holy week would you remember the love of Jesus that makes all things right?”
