How Can I Give?
Why do we give to the church? Giving to God is done to aid other people and Scripture gives us a clear model to follow. Three principles which will allow me to give to God are that God is my supplier, we should follow the example of sowing and reaping, and we should maintain an attitude of thanksgiving.

Giving begins with desire, not a feeling of compulsion. Giving is not measured by the amount. This is a spiritual issue, not a financial issue. Giving is an action so just try it!

Jesus teaches we should pray with an attitude of reverence, submission and dependency. What do we pray for? Basic needs, forgiveness and strength.

Power From Above
Jesus tells us in Matthew chapter 6 the things we can do to have a meaningful prayer life. The first is to pray - spend time in prayer with the Father. Then, don't wear a mask when you pray, do enter into God's presence with humility, and don't seek the applause of man. Seek a private place to pray, don't try to gain God's approval through your words, and do trust in the power and provision of the omniscient God.

The Pity Party
The plan of God doesn't always settle well in our spirit and we wonder why His plan doesn't conform to our wishes. The plan of God for Nineveh gives us a glimpse of the bigger picture of God. Jonah was having a pity party because of the way God had acted while Nineveh was having a party because of the pity the Lord had shown them.

The Forgiving Father
We are called into action because of the forgiveness of the Father, not simply to come to church but to share the news of his forgiveness with others. The church is the earthly orgainization fueled by heavenly power that should be challenging people to change. Forgiveness comes as a result of God's grace traveling beyond our imagination.

The Second Chance
Our poor choices don't prohibit the presence of God. A spirit of humility is the key in our reconnecting to the God of second chances. Our second chance can renew our relationship with God.

Father Knows Best
Our Father has expectations for each of us. Sometimes we follow and sometimes we flee the call of God, but He has the ability to make life change happen through the storms of life. When tempted to run from Him, I have to believe He knows best, surrender, commit to starting over, and give Him the chance to prove hinself and His ability.

The Next Step - Blessing Others
When serving others, we need to pay attention to the ambition. Are we serving to gain accolades or to show the love of Christ? The Bible instructs us to live with an "others first" mentality. Regardless of who gets the credit and who doesn't, be a faithful servant. Taking the next step requires us to do something. Serving is a vital part of the Christian life.

Small Group ministry can help us stay connected through the relationships that are formed. Small group involvement can be a blessing to ministry when members are praying for God's hand to move on the church. Participation in small group ministry can be the catalyst ot Kingdom growth.
