This Week's Sermon

Church is a crutch. Faith needs the support of crowds, so people gather to reinforce their fragile belief system. Sin-talk is psychologically harmful. Churches only want your money and loyalty. Stay away. Really? Not really.

The Church is the family of God, called together in joy to respond to His Word, enact His Kingdom and share His Good News. This is a place of healing and belonging, open to all. Church is a good thing. Hebrews tells us to keep gathering together, knowing that our gathering on earth is tied to Christ’s priestly work drawing us into the throne of grace. At the core of the church is joy in union with Christ.

Question: What would the world be like without the church?

About This Series: Really? – Untruths Uncovered

Many untrue things get said about God, Jesus, the Bible and the Church. Let’s expose some false narratives as we walk toward Easter this year. We are not trying to win arguments but to begin conversations with gentleness and respect (1 Peter 3:15). Each week’s sermon will provide a thoughtful question so you can start a conversation with a skeptic or non-believer. Ultimately, Easter morning declares the greatest news. Everyone said Jesus was dead, and that death would hold Him forever. Really? Guess what—Jesus is alive again!
