An American Altar: The god of Nationalism

When we say we pledge allegiance to something or someone, what are we really saying? To be allegiant means you are loyal or committed as a subordinate to a superior or of an individual to a group or cause. In short, to be allegiant means to be loyal. But what happens when following your nation or its priorities means a break in allegiance with Jesus? In light of Easter, and the growing Kingdom of God, How does God call us to wrestle with the god of Nationalism?
