How is Grace lived out in the Church?

“How is Grace lived out in the Church?”

Big Idea: I belong in God’s family and I have a responsibility to it

“Then the angel showed me Jeshua the high priest standing before the angel of the LORD. Satan was there at the angel's right hand, accusing Jeshua of many things. And the LORD said to Satan, "I, the LORD, reject your accusations, Satan… This man is like a burning stick that has been snatched from a fire." Jeshua's clothing was filthy as he stood there before the angel. So the angel said… "Take off his filthy clothes." And turning to Jeshua he said, "See, I have taken away your sins, and now I am giving you these fine new clothes." Then I said, "Please, could he also have a clean turban on his head?" So they put a clean priestly turban on his head and dressed him in new clothes while the angel of the LORD stood by.” zechariah3/1>5nlt

We are being accused daily

“Then the angel showed me Jeshua the high priest standing before the angel of the LORD. Satan was there at the angel's right hand, accusing Jeshua of many things.” vs1

“For the accuser of our brothers, who accuses them before our God day and night, has been hurled down.” revelation12/10

Note: the accusations were true: “Jeshua's clothing was filthy as he stood there before the angel.” vs3

God chose us and won’t listen to accusations

And the LORD said to Satan, "I, the LORD, reject your accusations, Satan… This man is like a burning stick that has been snatched from a fire." vs2

“His orders will never be revoked.” psalm148/6

“My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have one who speaks to the Father in our defense--Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins” 1john2/1>2

When we come to God He makes us clean

“So the angel said… "Take off his filthy clothes." And turning to Jeshua he said, "See, I have taken away your sins, and now I am giving you these fine new clothes." Then I said, "Please, could he also have a clean turban on his head?" So they put a clean priestly turban on his head and dressed him in new clothes while the angel of the LORD stood by.” vs4-5

“For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more." hebrews8/12nkjv

“If we say we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and refusing to accept the truth. But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us and to cleanse us from every wrong.” 1john1/8>9nlt

I must treat others the way God has treated me

” Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus” philippians2/5nkjv

“Your attitude should be the same that Christ Jesus had.” nlt

“What can we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us?” romans8/31
